Heading through Kansas

Hello from McPherson, Kansas! Yes I finally left Iowa, but it was hard!
I had a wonderful relaxing time with Dick and Rose O'Grady at their little slice of heaven farm in Grand River Iowa. I kept delaying my departure, i surely didn't want to leave.
Kansas is rolling hills and wind. Yesterday I toured Eisenhower's Museum and boyhood home in Abilene, Kansas. Worth the stop. Abilene is a very nice town.
My destination today is Leoti to rendezvous with my cousin Nancy Arena and her husband Paul.
They are on a X country bike trip that started in Portland and ends in Manassas VA. Wow now that is quite an adventure.
I am getting closer to home and happy about that. Here are a few photos for you.

Here are of a couple of recent photos

guy and my first cousin.

Cory and Thomas, with Emma. great friends from Chi town.
(Chicago)

Mode of transportation in Shipshewana. An Amish community.

Heading west

Good morning from Potato Creek Campground, North Liberty Indiana.

Arrived here yesterday. It's a lovely campground. Had a little trouble backing into my site due to a few well placed posts that made it interesting. The posts are still standing and my RV is unschathed.

It's been a while since posting. I have been to Syracuse, Rochester, Erie, Sandusky, Elkhart/South Bend and Shipshewana, I visited with friends and family along the way. The heat heat and humidity are getting to me. I have tent campers all around me and I can't even imagine sleeping in this climate.
I am soft. My pioneer spirit is lacking!

While here I will be spend a lot of time with my friend and card making guru Joan.
she is having a couple of card classes this week plus overnight guests. Should be fun. Oh and who could forget the pot luck meals.

So I will post a few pictures and that's if for now.......ciao....

Saturday July 6

Hello again,

I am in East Kingston RI, near my brother's boat at Wickford.
After a harrowing trip from West Point, I arrived here on Wednesday at Wawaloam resort with
Jenny and Cathy on board.

This is from Greg's boat. It's a 34 ft Beneteau. Very nice
sailing vessel.

We sailed on Thursday the 4th for about 4 hours. Then we took a break while i
checked on and tended to Emma.

In the evening Greg motored us out of their mooring and we dropped anchor to watch great fireworks.
It was nice.

The humidity and 90 degree temps are really knocking me down. Not used to them.
Feels a lot like Guam! lol
Yesterday we went over to Jamestown and Newport. Weather was hot but breezy.
Got to see a lighthouse. Nice.
And had wonderful seafood at the Moorings.
So, I have loved spending the 4th with Greg, Debby, Cathy and Jenny in a very Americana setting.

Here are a couple of photos of my patriotic grand blessings.

Statesville NC

Good Morning!

I lost a post somewhere, thought i publshed it, guess not.
Today my way point is just north of Charlotte along  route 77, a very busy noisy highway.

Wednesday night I was near Cartersville Georgia, a very nice rv spot that was next to a main line
train. Trains all night, at least 3 per hour. Crazy and not very restfull.

I am excited to be seeing my niece Cathy to day and even better she is coming with me to
Providence. A real road trip now.

I had my first real hard rain yesterday. It washed the coach well.
Wednesday night my good friends and former neighbors Mike and Gary came by and picked me up for a nice dinner at a Cajun Place called Henry's. It was noisy, fun and great food in a town named Akworth.
Here's a picture of them. They too are rv-er's ! They are visiting their son John and family, but
heading out to Wisconsin soon. I hope to meat up with them one of these trips.
Well take care. and more from RV Rita soon
comments appreciated!

It works........

Good Wednesday Morning from Huntsville Alabama.

I am parked with hookups at the US Space and Rocket center campground.. It is the home of space camp.
They actually shoot off model rockets that the campers have made right in an area close by. fun.
This morning I am going to over to tour the center. There is a full size mockup of the Shuttle on the booster rockets here.
Then on to Atlanta or NW of the city. I don't want to go near that traffic!
Mike and Gary Billiard  are there in their new motorhome visiting their grandkids so I will see them.

The RV is fixed! After Allegro Service center I went over to the local Freightliner. Two dudes jumped right into the problem. What a riot. They found 2 issues, one a very loose connection under the dash and 2 a bent pin in an interface in the back engine area.  It was awesome.

So my ice maker works, I have new roof vent covers, my infrared ëyeballs"for the rv remote work.
Some cosmetices were done. I am a happy rv Rita.

Time to walk Emma. Have a good day.

Making Progress

Well, I have an appointent to go into the service bay at 0645 tomorrow morning.
I have that bay for 3 hours. I am hoping that they get all my issues done in that
time and I can head north east. Fingers crossed. Praying it works.

More tomorrow.

50 amp hook ups. I have some issues that need to be fixed while
the coach is still under warranty. I will sit here til it's done!
Then on to more fun adventures. We already had an Alabama
thunderstorm.  TTFN

Starting my trek north

I am writing this from Maxwell AFB Famcamp tonight. Emma and I drove out of Eglin AFB at 0941 this morning, leaving Matt and Kaiah behind to get back to living life together. It was sad, and hard and
that's ok. Adventures lie ahead. I drove about 150 miles on mostly 2 lane roads through rural Alabama.
Weather was a little drizzly but not bad.
The gas stations here are not very RV friendly.
Tomorrow I am heading to the Tiffin Sevice in Red Bay Alabama. I hope to get my items tweaked quickly.
More from Red Bay,,,,,,

I am tied down in the RV on base at Eglin FAMCAMP (RV Park) So happy to be here

Matt is at his house off base, with A/C issues, as in it isn't working.

He will probably be here soon to cool off spend the night and watch the Dbacks game.

The call of home is strong

Good morning from Monroe Luziana, 400 miles from Matt's house.

We had a great time at the Ranger's game last night. Seats right behind home plate and they won!
So nice to be with both sons! I won't see Chris before he deploys in early July.😢It's hit and humid here. Heading east today, the pull of home is strong now for Matt. I'll let you know where we end up.

June 10. Arlington Texas

Hard to believe that a week ago Matt and I were still in Las Vegas a week agin, a day after his graduatioin from
Weapons School. He is a patch wearing Weapons officer now. The coarse was the equivalent of earning a PHD! Lots of long hours. short on sleep. Proud of him!

We have been to Portland Oregon to see Jim and Mitra, home to Show Low
to retrieve the RV and dogs and are now in Arlington Texas. Rangers game
tonight, with Chris!

Day 4 Where's Rita

Howdy yáll from Wichita Falls Texas. It's been quite a trek so far from Show Low. Matt is driving the RV or should I say piloting it it?! I am driving his Ford F150 with his dirtbike in the back. I have to say though it's a good ride and quiet!
Yesterday I stopped in Chillicothe Texas at Love's Bar B Que for some good. It's become a destination when traveling through this part of Texas. I figure if the UPS man stops there it must be good, and it is!
On to Arlington Texas today. B-Y for now!
